- "Mermaid vs Whales." -

A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:

"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.

But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?

Without a doubt, I'd rather be a whale.

At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.

We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn't enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated.
Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: "How amazing am I ?! "

Last comment: I'm not putting down thin people, being a thin woman myself (BMI of 22 maybe?)
Just saying that being large doesn't equate to being unattractive.

- "God, why do I..?" -

I kept on asking God why do I have small monolid eyes,

until I saw a blind little girl..

Then I thanked God for my small eyes..

I kept on asking God why do I have a flat nose,

until I saw a man with a big tumor in his nose..

Then I thanked God for my flat nose..

I kept on asking God why do I mostly have to go to campus by public transportation,

until I saw a woman who had to walk for miles carrying her children with bare feet..

Then I thanked God for those public transportation..

I kept on asking God why do I have a short body,

until I saw a child with no arms and legs..

Then I thanked God for my short body..

I kept on asking God why can't I travel all around the world just like what my friends did,

until I saw a poor old man who had never traveled further than his own town in his life..

Then I thanked God for my condition..

I kept on asking God why do I have to work quite hard even before I graduate from university just to fulfill my own daily needs,

until I saw hundreds of jobless people applying for jobs everyday
and being rejected..

Then I thanked God for my job..

Through the people around me, God has taught me how to be grateful for all the way I am.. :')

Now I've learnt that jealousy won't change any of my own condition,

instead it will only make everything worse coz it will simply take the peace and happiness in my heart away..

Now I've learnt that there's no perfect life in this world,

everybody has their own problems, regrets and failures behind all their laughter..

Now I've learnt that by keeping grateful and counting my own blessings,

it will make my life even brighter and more delightful :)

because..

Jealousy is counting someone's else blessings
instead of your own.

- "my 5th teaching.." -

I showed this picture to one of my class at St. Theresia high school in my 5th teaching practice a couple days ago.. I used this picture to brainstorm what ideas come to the students' mind when they hear or see a picture of rabbit..

At the very first some students shouted, "SATAY, miss!!" and the rest of the class laughed, including me haha.. I just answered, "Hey don't make it a portion of satay! It's too cute to be cooked.. hahaha.."

Then some other students said, "BUGS BUNNY".. That answer was logical so I wrote it on the whiteboard. Another student answered, "CARROT, miss!" That was also a good answer.

Until one of the students shouted loudly, "PLAYBOY, miss!! Playboy bunny!!", and soon his friend added, "HUGH HEFNER, miss!!" The whole class burst into laugh hahaha :))

So.. Can you imagine how naughty my students were? wkwk :P
But I love teaching them.. They have given me an unforgettable teaching experience :)
